ABOUT US

  • OUR STORY
  • OUR MISSION
  • OUR VISION
  • OUR PRINCIPLES

About two years ago, a large group of schools, including local authority and church schools, gathered on a chilly evening to explore how we could work together even more effectively and help ensure future sustainability.  Today, after countless hours of work, The Alliance Multi-Academy Trust or TAMAT has been born, bringing together five of those initial schools and over 1400 children.  We are proud that we have already achieved something that is unique – for the first time in Surrey, schools of both a secular and church nature have collaborated and found a way of coming together formally in a MAT, for mutual benefit.

The school leadership teams and governors have committed to a new level and type of collaboration that we know will benefit the children of all of our schools enormously – and it is already happening.  But we haven’t come together to create TAMAT academy school “clones” – far from it.  We fundamentally recognise the individuality of each school, their teachers, their cultures and environments, but most importantly their children and TAMAT will always respect that.  And so, our doors are open to other like-minded partners and we invite you to find out more.

The Alliance Multi-Academy Trust (TAMAT) brings together local, like-minded schools, within collaborative reach, to achieve even greater outcomes for every child than would be individually possible.

We place learning at the heart of our communities. We pool our resources to deepen and nourish the education of all. We aim to improve the life chances of all our children, by helping them develop wisdom, hope, a sense of community and dignity.

Each school’s unique ethos and values, whether secular or faith, are strengths to be celebrated and enrich our trust. Fundamental to all schools within our alliance is a belief in a child-centred approach to education and a commitment to raising the aspirations, achievements and well-being of every one of our children, our staff and our communities.

Over five years, TAMAT will become a thought-leading, value-adding and sustainable alliance of ten to twelve local, like-minded and collaborative schools. All will be at least good or outstanding, and TAMAT will also have the capacity to support other schools in need of improvement.

TAMAT will be an organisation of excellence, the first choice for schools, staff, parents and children. It will be recognised at national level in support for other schools and will be sharing and drawing upon excellence internationally.

We believe that the following are fundamental to the delivery of the TAMAT vision:

  • Develop outstanding leadership at all levels within TAMAT and beyond
  • Develop and share excellence in teaching and learning
  • Enable a culture of collaboration, challenge, support and shared accountability
  • Drive an agenda of continuous school improvement through robust self-evaluation and quality assurance
  • Commit to tailored investment in continuous professional development that attracts, develops and retains the best
  • Provide financial expertise, strength and resilience, driving probity and compliance
