Crawley Ridge Junior School

Crawley Ridge Junior School was built in 1975 in the grounds of a Victorian House which was demolished prior to the school being built.  The grounds are particularly beautiful with many rare and interesting shrubs and trees, and these surround the building which, because of the nature of the ground, is split level.

The school takes up to 264 children who are grouped in eight classes; two in each year group. The curriculum is organised around topics which encourage children to make links between the different aspects of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to share their learning and making topic books is a unique feature of the school.

Our ethos is ‘Live the learning, learn for life’, which sums up our belief that children learn best from a broad, exciting curriculum supported by a variety of hands-on experiences. From a visiting zoo, to sleepovers in the school and residential trips, we aim to create many memorable moments for all of our pupils.

Our school values are: Achieve, Respect, Reflect, Persevere and Belong which underpin us as a family school where we care for one another and respect each other’s culture, religion and point of view. Assemblies, circle times and the PSHE curriculum support these values and lead our pupils to become successful global citizens.
