Each Spring Term, we like to invite our families to join us for a Family Learning session. The aim of this session is to give our parents and carers the opportunity to come into school and share a lesson with their child/children.
The lesson takes place in the school hall, directly after morning registration.
Year R shared the story of “Tiddler” by Julia Donaldson, before the children are asked to make a porthole, inspired by the story.
Year 1 had a series of exercises to complete to train as astronauts, alongside their adult. The children faced activities to test their physical fitness, mapping skills, observation skills, communication skills, problem solving and a space knowledge quiz.
Year 2 focussed on Maths, which is a key part of our School Development Plan this year. There was a carousel of activities for different aspects of Maths, including number, shape space and measure.
Parents and carers give us positive feedback from the sessions and all our visitors value the opportunity to see their child learning in class.
